Job Summary:
The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of HRplus
Software’s IT systems and networks. The ideal candidate will organize, supervise, and assist in
installation and support of the HRplus Software’s computer systems, including servers, local area
networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data
communication systems. Many of these systems are cloud-based. The Network and Systems
Administrator will also assist in resolving client time clock issues and will function as 2nd Tier
support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine the organization’s needs in a network and computer system before building it
out.
• Oversee installation of all network hardware and software and necessary systems
upgrades and repairs.
• Help maintain network and computer system security and ensure that all systems are
operating correctly.
• Collect and analyze data to evaluate network/systems performance and help make the
system work better, faster, and with greater accuracy; identify and implement system
improvements where needed.
• Prepare training materials and train users on the proper use of hardware and software
when necessary.
• Solve problems quickly when a user or an automated monitoring system reports a
problem.
• Assist Clients with Time Clock issues
• Monitor Security logs and alerts. Record and troubleshoot any issues that are found.
• Monitor and Manage Cloud environments.
Organisational Relationships:
• The Network and Systems Administrator will report directly to the IT Manager. He/She
will assist and work in conjunction with the IT Officers to help facilitate the proper
function, utilization, availability, and security of IT systems and operations.
Qualifications:
• First degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline or a
combination of qualifications and experience.
• Five (5) or more years of experience as a systems administrator
• Systems administration certification (e.g., IEEE, CompTIA Network+, Cisco) is desirable.
• Certificates in cloud computing will be an asset.
• Must have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be capable of leading and working with a diverse team of computer/network
technicians, systems analysts, software developers and other computer professionals.
• Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing; presentation
skills/experience will be a definite plus.
• IT project management experience is also required.
• Must possess strong values of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality
